Distress new wood (with vinegar/steel wool or with stain & paint) to look reclaimed or salvage old wood. Cut wood to size & use construction adhesive & screws to adhere wood to existing table top. Cut a small chunk or use a scrap to make a drawer pull.

In this case I did put the reclaimed wood on the existing top. The existing top was very thin & I madde the new wood pieces longer & wider than the existing top so you aren't able to see it. It gave me a flat, stable surface to screw into/glue to & looks/function were better than I expected.

I am inspired to paint my cheap 3 leg round particle board bedside table. I had used a small table cloth. I don't like that look any more. I am moving and I don't want to spend money on this if I don't

Awesome! Light bronze is a great choice. All metallics are really in style right now, but they also stand the test of time. Metallics are really neutrals (in my opinion) b/c they are earthy/natural and they look good mixed in with every color I can imagine.
